Dr. Shaun Ho

MBBS, FRACP, PhD

Paediatric Gastroenterologist

Dr. Shaun Ho is an Australian-trained paediatric gastroenterologist, hepatologist and general paediatrician. He is a consultant at The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne and consults privately at Paediatric Gastroenterology Victoria in Parkville, and Offspring Health in Hawthorn. He cares for the well-being of children from birth through to late adolescence. 

 

He obtained his medical degree from Monash University, Australia and completed his general paediatric training in Melbourne (The Royal Children's Hospital and Monash Medical Centre). He later conducted his paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology training at Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide before undertaking further post-graduate fellowship training in paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada. He subsequently completed his PhD in non-invasive biomarkers for the diagnosis and management of children with coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease at the University of Otago (Christchurch, New Zealand).

 

His special interests include:

  • Coeliac disease

  • Inflammatory bowel disease (including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis)

  • Eosinophilic eosophagitis

  • Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease

  • Rectal bleeding

  • Recurrent abdominal pain

  • Malnutrition

 

Dr. Ho is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). He has been fully accredited to perform paediatric endoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Gastroenterological Endoscopy (CCRTGE).

 

Other than English, he speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien.
